Vehicle Training

MiDAS - (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme)

What is MiDAS?

All drivers registered with Lewisham Community Transport Scheme will need to undergo driver training through the MiDAS scheme. It is a nationally recognised standard for the assessment and training of drivers, designed to enhance driving standards and promote the safe operation of minibuses.

Lewisham Community Transport Scheme will provide on road assessments with a qualified trainer and classroom sessions covering such aspects as defensive driving, passenger safety, manual handling awareness and breakdown procedures. Once qualified, drivers will have the opportunity to be refresher trained every four years, maintaining their skills and keeping abreast of all safety and legal issues.
